Description
Stolzenfels Castle was originally built in 1259 to support collection of tolls on the Rhine River. Over the centuries it fell into ruin until it was gifted to the Prussian Crown Prince and rebuilt by him into a Gothic Revival palace in 1842. It is open today to the public for tours. The castle is located close to the city of Koblenz, Germany in the Upper Rhine River Valley. Digital Art using dry brush on sandstone texture, based on the original photograph.
