Fire Hydrant and Fire House in the Ghost Town of Bodie Duvet Cover

An 1880 fire hydrant in front of the second fire station built in Bodie, California after the 1892 fire destroyed the original fire station. Unfortunately, these hydrants did not work during either the 1892 or 1932 fires. In 1892 a valve was closed on the pipe from the fire reservoir in the Standard Mill and was not discovered until the fire had progressed substantially. in 1932 the hydrant piping was clogged with rocks and dirt due to lack of maintenance.

Ron has always loved the outdoors so it was natural for him to take up landscape photography. He and Liz plan trips and hike together to find the most picturesque spots to capture images.
